In the end of the 90’s demonopolization of the Russian market of submersible equipment occurred, which caused the increase of the technological level of pump units. Thus, such products as permanent magnet motors, bearings made of high-strength materials, pump stages for high GOR wells, ejector pump systems and other home made developments are on the best world standards level, according to many parameters. Certain projects were awarded with the National Government prize.

Foreign submersible equipment bought by Russian oil industry has always served as a catalyst of fast development of Russian machine-building companies of oil-and-gas industry and its technical improvement. There are always companies that are to look up to and to compete with. Open competition involving both home and foreign companies has always helped to «be in shape».

Oil industry workers pointed out several times, that these days they move from better field zones to worse ones, therefore different approaches and new technologies are needed. The desire of oil companies to use new types of high-quality equipment for operating in harsh environmental conditions is quite reasonable.

Pumping systems, currently produced by Novomet, are able to successfully perform in corrosive, gas-containing and abrasive-laden environments. Range of pumping systems has expanded significantly. New software tools were designed to help decide what type of equipment needs to be produced for particular operating conditions and to correctly evaluate reliability of both innovative equipment and commercial equipment. All organizational and technical decisions are tested on pilot projects. For the last years, hundreds of our new equipment units have been field-tested. The results of Novomet equipment operation are presented in the press: both in articles published in cooperation with representatives of leading oil companies "Lukoil", "Surgutneftegaz", "Yuganskneftegaz" and in reports at International and National conferences and oil-field meetings.

The positive image of the company and its products in the market have been made for years and for decades. But even now we can witness positive tendencies in cooperation of oil-industry workers and producers. Oil companies having estimated efforts to improve the quality and reliability of submersible equipment invite domestic machine engineers to participate in tenders for delivery complex and high-efficiency pump equipment on a par with foreign companies. Positive shifts can be also noted in another important issue - customers have started to estimate the reliability of equipment by means of more developed techniques. And it is not fundamental whether the techniques are domestic or foreign. First of all, such techniques should give the opportunity to estimate objectively the reliability without any data corruption.

We do not have doubts that united efforts and competence of Russian oil-industry workers, manufacturers, and service companies will give positive results. We understand purposes of customers and realize clearly the problems. Constructive work based on partnership that benefits both oil-industry workers and Russian machine engineers is to be continued…
