General information
Novomet seals of 86-,92-, and 103-series* have a number of advantages compared to other Russian analogues.
Three-chamber, closed type 86-,92-, and 103-series seal sections are more reliable in comparison with other analogues produced in Russia due to the following design features:
- seal is fitted with double check valve for excessive pressure release from ESP motor section and a seal section thus preventing membrane breach;
- seal is fitted with a cooling filter for wear metal parts and cooling oil along the housing, achieving better protection against short circuit and reducing motor oil pressure due to heating.
- Novomet seal is easily connected to ESPs and ESP motors manufactured in Russia and abroad (Centrilift, ODI, REDA, other Chinese manufacturers) only by changing head and base modules without disassembling the basic unit.
- Seal can be modular with tabular performance.
- Seal shaft is protected against wear by use of removable sleeves, acting as additional supports thereby increasing shaft stability.
- Seal thrust bearing has a modular-pad design developed in Novomet using PM technology and an operating surface covered with babbit. Such a design allows shaft rotation in both directions dissipating heat in the contact area.
- Seal allows to reduce the number of connections with the motor thus preventing possible oil leaks, wellbore fluid penetration into the motor housing and decreases assembly time and system's overall reliability.
